(ITA) Masca (femminile, mascone per il maschile) è un termine piemontese che sta ad indicare le streghe (sia la fattucchiera che certi spiriti dei boschi). Nelle leggende di masche sopravvive un pò della cultura pagano animista precristiane che da queste parti in qualche modo è arrivata fino a noi.

(ENG) Masca (female or Mascone, male) is a word in piedmontese language that means a witch or a spirit (usually spirits of the woods or nature). Inside the legends of "masche" survived some of the old pagan and animist culture of this area.

The Old Jewish cemetery in Alessandria, Winter 2009/2010

The israelitic part of the cemetery of Alessandria is probably my favourite place in the city. That's not because it's creepy... It's a relaxing place. Full of trees, and ancient things. I never met a human inside there, I met many rabbits, some cats and birds inside it. There are many awesome forgotten sculptures, most of them have non-figurative subjects (geometric) and it's full of symbols and inscriptions that make me really courious. I prefere this part than the christian area (expecially the new buildings really terrible) I feel in peace when I come here. It's nice in winter with the snow and also in summer when everything is green. Here are some pictures made with my digital and analogic camera:

Most of people buried here dyied in the late years of the '800 and in the early '900. On this grave you can see the clothes of those times, fantastic.
